Washington, D.C. —  May 18, 2026 — On behalf of the Board of Directors, the Council of State Restaurant Associations (CSRA) is pleased to announce that Bob Luz has been unanimously approved to serve as Interim Executive Director, effective Monday, May 18, through the end of November 2026.

In this interim leadership role, Luz will help guide CSRA through an important transition period, including preparation for the organization’s Annual Conference and support in identifying CSRA’s next long-term leader.

“We are grateful for Bob’s willingness to step into this role during a pivotal time for the organization,” said the CSRA Board of Directors in a joint statement. “His deep industry expertise, collaborative leadership style, and longstanding relationships across the restaurant community make him exceptionally well-suited to support our members and partners in the months ahead.”

Luz brings decades of leadership experience and extensive industry knowledge to the position. A graduate of the University of Massachusetts Amherst with a degree in Hospitality Management, he began his career in restaurant operations before advancing into senior leadership roles in human resources, training, and executive management across several major restaurant organizations.

Most recently, Luz served as President & CEO of the Massachusetts Restaurant Association from 2013 to 2023, where he led the organization through a period of significant growth and industry change. He continues to consult with multi-unit restaurant operations and remains an active and respected voice within the hospitality industry.

CSRA extends its appreciation to its state association members and industry partners for their continued support during this transition and looks forward to working closely with Luz over the coming months.
